Feng Shui Defined

Download | Duration: 00:00:59

The term feng shui means “wind and water”.  It comes from an ancient Chinese poem praising a landscape with a harmonious chi flow, “The winds are mild. The sun is bright. The water is clear. The trees are lush….” Sometimes referred to as a Chinese version of geomancy (the study of mother earth), feng shui is the study of how to create harmony between the energy of the earth and the human body, and how to use the energy of our surroundings to nurture and support ourselves.

The four core pillars of feng shui are:
Chi Flow
Yin/Yang Balancing
Five Element Theory
Bagua Mapping

Many feng shui masters have added techniques, theories, and approaches throughout the centuries, but if you make adjustments to these four pillars, combined they will affect the energy patterns present in a physical space to create more harmony.
