Day Ten 21 Day Consciousness Cleanse - The Power of Humility
Today is the day for Humility with the 21 Day Consciousness Cleanse. I missed the call today but I feel empowered to really share my experience of reading through the chapter today instead of writing about the call.
As I read the chapter, I think how it seems my body is working right along with my soul's desire to work through the cleanse. I woke up yesterday with a sore throat and although today I felt better, this evening I feel worse. The chapter begins with this sentence, "Now that you have taken full responsibility for the soul that you carry, it is imperative that you get all the support you need". As I read on further, I'm reminded that we live in our heads with ego without being guided by a source greater than ourselves. We take on and try to manage thoughts, beliefs, and actions ourselves because we are too proud to ask for help. Debbie Ford tells us that we are an instrument of the divine and we must ask for this depth of guidance so we can return to the realm of consciousness. I envision an instrument such as a piano, with many elements brought together in the creation of this piano. Each piece could be related to each person. As a whole, this divine instrument plays beautiful music for the world.
The human race has evolved in centuries past however we are evolving at a much faster pace. We can no longer do things the way we have in the past, we must let go of the past in order to evolve into the future. Look at what's happening in the world right now. Things are falling away that have not served us well, such as the banking systems or the government. There are elements that are being exposed because we are ALL going through a cleanse!! Look at us now, stepping up as a whole to truly feel, pray, and share something with those in need after the earthquake in Haiti. By being humble to the spirit within us we can be guided to hear the voice of our soul to help the entire human race. (Hope for Haiti Needs Help!)
Each of us is here for a purpose, we were connected to that humility, the deep connection to the divine that allowed us to know our true worth of service here on earth. Somehow along the way of being filled in our heads with ego and trudging along thinking we can do everything ourselves, we lost that humility and the connection to the divine. It's when we find that deep abiding connection to the divine that we are truly humble and turn our life over to something greater than ourselves. Much like the efforts of helping those in Haiti, helping someone with their groceries, or giving food to the homeless.
For me, the humility of writing about personal past "stuff" was big for me. I have not shared much of the past with others but I felt that I needed to get it out, be humble. I do need to work on thinking I can do everything myself. I can be stubborn about how I want things done. It's in this arrogance of thinking it has to be done a certain way that blocks myself from receiving help from others. I can see where my past has led me to this way of thinking because I did do so much on my own raising two children and helping my husband through college.
Here is a prayer that Debbie Ford shares on page 151 of the book, 21 Day Consciousness Cleanse.

God, I offer myself to thee, to build with me and toDebbie Ford is truly living this prayer after her difficulties of drug addiction became a victory and others are bearing witness through her life changing programs. I see this quite a bit with those that are living their life with purpose and intention. It's being humble in sharing our past and present that frees us of the ego. Letting go of the attachments of what we want, what others have, or how we can get back at others frees up our energies and leads us to a higher perspective. We are then at peace with the divine as the collective musical instrument playing beautiful music.
do with me as thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage
of self, that I may better do thy will. Take away my
difficulties, that victory over them may bear witness
to those I would help of thy power, they love, and thy
way of life. May I do thy will always.
