Day Twelve 21 Day Consciousness Cleanse - The Power of Risk
Day 12 of the 21 Day Consciousness Cleanse and I'm struggling to keep up. I'm trying but this cold is kicking my butt or should I say my head. Today is the power of risk and I guess in a way I have taken risk by pushing my body to keep up with every day routines while not feeling well. Usually I'm going full throttle pushing myself anyway so this is nothing new. Do you think the divine message is to rest?
Debbie Ford tells us in her book, 21 Day Consciousness Cleanse, that the self that we know has a false sense of security that will want to hold on to the familiar, even if we are not happy with that familiar self. She relates this to wearing the same clothes each week and sleeping in the same bed each night. This is our security, the choices we make and know to be familiar with each day. But after living this way each day we become a robot to everyday life while starving our soul. Each of us has a creative flair that is curious about making changes but when we live in fear of taking risks we dimmer the light to our soul. Think about something that you wish you had done in the past? Do you think this would have brought joy to your life?
Debbie talks about a road trip she took to a place that she really didn't like. She was resistant at first because of the same old familiar of her home, family, and friends. She remembers laughing so hard and having the time of her life, right there in a restaurant eating some strange food. I have found myself in these moments too over the past few years. I'm learning to act upon my intuition so when I kept getting this yearning to jump in my car this past summer and take a road trip, I did! I told my husband that I needed to hit the road and if he wanted to come along he needed to pack up quick. I knew I needed to head north, not sure where we were going or where we would sleep that night but I knew I had to get in that car and drive. Some pretty amazing things happened for my soul during this road trip. And I will say that every place we ended up was pretty amazing too. (I will have to share this story with you another time.)
Debbie Ford says, "Today is the day to break free from the prison of the person you know yourself to be and step into a self you have yet to know." I write about this in my first mini book, Live Your Intention - Open The Door To Your Life's Journey. It's like standing in front of a door not knowing what's on the other side. You will never know unless you take a risk of turning the handle and opening that door. I like to relate this to riding a bike for the first time. Maybe you fell off that bike and bruised your knee but you eventually rode that bike until the tires were going bald. Do you drive a car? Now that's a risk we can all relate too! You never know what will happen in your life unless you take that step to do something that has a risk.
At first I wasn't really sure what I was going to risk since I wasn't feeling good and I'm usually a risk taker anyway. Being an Aries, I usually jump in without really worrying about the white or black of a situation. Sure, I've had times when it was painful, costly, and quite discouraging but you know what, SHIT HAPPENS! And you know what else? When you do this you are actually making a shift in your journey through life. You are sweeping away all the cobwebs of the past and entering into the light of change for your highest good.
Here is what I did for risks:
I walked backwards throughout the day. (This is actually good exercise.)
I brushed my teeth with my left hand. (This was messy and I found my fingers on my right hand moving.)
I tried using my left hand instead of the right throughout the day. This was aggravating but it made me concentrate more on what I was doing. This really got me thinking, when we really concentrate on something it's much like using the power of intention or manifestation. You concentrate on what change you want in your life and act on it each day until becomes reality. Now for the next thing I tried......
I tried to pee like a guy but well you know what happened there. I think I will give up on this one! You know we have to laugh at life and jump into the unknown. You will never know unless you take that risk!
Love Potion for Day 12
1 cup of water
1/2 banana
1/2 apple
1/2 cup of rice milk
My intention: I'm a bright shining star making my way through all the risks in life.
