Why Your not a Feng Shui Professional
If you were to ask someone in the United States about Feng Shui 20 years ago they would look at you with the deer in the headlights look. Today, however, we have Feng Shui Consultants spread throughout the United States, Interior Designers that have incorporated this specialty into their practice, and the public reading books or attending seminars so they may try their hand at this thing we call Feng Shui.
If you read my blog, Confused About Feng Shui , you will notice that there are different schools of Feng Shui just as there are different schools in the medical fields. Form school was the basis just as learning about the body is the basis to the medical field. I know, you may be thinking, this gal is really stretching the term, 'opposites' but bare with me and read on.
When you seek out a doctor you will typically look in the phone book, research online or ask a friend about a doctor that specializes in say, Gynecology. Would you seek out a Gynecologist if you have a cold, broke your arm, or have an ache or pain in your body, well no. This also holds true for professionally trained Feng Shui Consultants. Just as there are different schools of Feng Shui there are also different specialties in Feng Shui.
I'm writing this article to shed the light on all the different specialties and why it's important to hire a Feng Shui professional when making adjustments within your home or office. Better yet, what about the advice you give to your neighbor, co-worker, or family member because you read a book or attended a quick workshop about Feng Shui. Have you ever read a medical book so that you may give medical advice without seeking professional training? Do you advice your family members on how to heal a broken arm?
Let's dig a little deeper into the different specialties that a Feng Shui consultant or practitioner would specialize in.
Being a Feng Shui practitioner means many different things to different people. Part of the learning process for a practitioner is to feel what their about, their unique set of skills, their passions, and then to find a way to share their essence with clients during feng shui consultations. If you have trained as a Feng Shui practitioner you know exactly what I'm talking about. For those that read Feng Shui books or have attended workshops to dabble in Feng Shui you are totally missing this 'feeling and passion' that is felt by a professional practitioner. This also holds true for medical students, during their educational training, they may walk into a university wanting to become a Gynecologist only to find along the way they feel a passion to become a Heart Surgeon.
Again, please take the time to read my blog, Confused About Feng Shui, and then read the list below. Depending upon the feeling and passion of a Feng Shui practitioner they may specialize in one or more of the following:
